A Legacy of Construction

In 1997, Linda Daly founded Daly & Zilch (Florida), Inc., a thriving residential and commercial construction company. A pioneer in an industry traditionally dominated by men, Linda’s passion for building is in her blood. With both grandfathers in construction, a father who’s a retired master plumber, and a brother who runs a family-owned plumbing and heating business in Buffalo, NY, Linda was raised in an environment where construction was more than just a profession—it was a way of life.

Building Expertise

Before establishing Daly & Zilch, Linda honed her skills as Vice President of Nichter Construction, a $32-million commercial construction company based in Buffalo, NY. There, she oversaw operations and managed over 150 employees, gaining invaluable experience that would serve her well in her own entrepreneurial journey.

A New Beginning in Citrus County

Linda’s love for Florida drew her to Citrus County in 1996, where she recognized the area’s excellent quality of life, outstanding schools for her son Darren, and the chance to build a business while being part of a vibrant community. After relocating to the area, Linda married Charles (Bud) Daly, who became her partner not only in life but also in business. Today, Linda and Bud are proud to have their family’s roots firmly planted in Citrus County, surrounded by five generations of family members enjoying all the activities this beautiful region offers.

Credentials and Recognition

Linda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Houghton College and became a licensed Certified General Contractor in Florida in 1997. She is also a Certified Minority Business Enterprise, a distinction she’s held since 2001. As one of the few women in Florida to hold a commercial contractor license, Linda has made a lasting impact on the construction industry in the region. Additionally, Daly & Zilch is a recognized member of the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida, reflecting Linda’s unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and community.

Charles 'Bud' Daly

A Legacy of Masonry and Team Leadership

Bud owned and operated one of the largest masonry contractor businesses in Buffalo, NY, before joining forces with Linda. Their professional relationship blossomed into a close friendship, and when Linda announced her move to Florida, Bud was skeptical at first. "I thought she was bluffing," he recalls, "but she was serious... and here we are!" Together, Linda and Bud bring over 80 years of combined construction experience to Daly & Zilch.

A True Family Business

The company, which consists of Linda, Bud, their sons, and a dedicated team of about sixteen employees, has become a true family operation. "We're a team, and every member of our company is vital to our existence," Linda explains. "From day one, we embrace employees and promise them a rewarding journey as long as they contribute to our company’s success. I care about each of them as if I were their 'Mom'," she adds.
